BA-305 Zoysia is a fine-textured turfgrass variety suitable for use in home lawns, golf courses and recreational areas. BA-305 handles wear and shady conditions and has a deep green colour. The variety is best cut short to provide a high end product. Likely to be commercially available in Australia in 2018.
BA-305 was intended for use primarily on golf courses, where the zoysiagrass could be used within tees and surrounding collars. A benefit of zoysiagrass is that it is less common to see attacks by army worm and sod web worm. The high fibre and lignin present within the leaf blades, which also assist for wear tolerance, make it tough for such attacks. To put it simply, the foliage is "too" tough and unfavorable for chewing mouthparts of such pests.
