Description

Pensacola grass is one of the most popular varieties of Bahia. It has long, slim (narrow) leaves with a root system to depths of 2 meters. Pensacola has better cold-tolerance than other Bahia's. It has excellent drought resistance, with better shade tolerance than green couch grasses. Pensacola is best suited to low maintenance areas with limited irrigation such as roadsides. It can also be used within orchard inter-rows, but the seedhead can be a dislike for some farmers.

Other comments

Pensacola Bahia grows best in Northern NSW and QLD. Sowing rate is 3 to 4 kg/100m2 which is best to be applied in late spring through summer. Seed is available in 25 kg bags.
