Description:

The soft annual or biennial "herb" has a taproot and grows erect initially. As the weed grows, it becomes prostrate across the ground. Chickweed is soft and has bright, shiny ovate leaves; its flowers are white in terminal cymes. The weed spreads profusely by seed.

 

Susceptible Turf:

Warm- and cool-season turfgrass.
