Description:

  • Annual weed
  • Seeds germinate in spring
  • Dominant in winter and early spring
  • Prefers wet, shaded conditions
  • Often found where turf cover is poor and mowing is short
  • Bindii is different to carrot weed.

 

Susceptible Turf:

Warm-and cool-season turfgrasses.

 

Control options:

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Use a combination of approaches listed on this page.
  • Cultural: Control or removal is essential in winter before they become prickly.
