Description:

A perennial root system with frequent rooting at the nodes. Flowers in 4 weeks from a seedling . Can produce 5000 seeds per plant, ejects seeds up to 2.5 m. Green and purple forms (as pictured above). Grows in a broad range of conditions wet/dry, high fertility/low fertility, acid soils. Tolerant to many selective turf herbicides. Stems break at crown which can regrow. Spreads easily by mowers/machinery. Is similar in appearance to yellow wood sorrel weed.
